Indian-origin man arrested in Singapore for robbing jewellery shop

A 28-year-old Indian-origin man has been sent to three years in prison for robbing gold jewellery worth $88,167 (119,000 Singapore dollars) in broad daylight. The man identified as M Jegatheesh also got six strokes of cane as punishment. Jegatheesh robbed a jewellery shop with two others - Veeramani Subran Das, a grab taxi driver and Sharavindran. The accused executed his robbery plan on August 14, 2019.
