India’s first COVID-19 vaccine COVAXIN passes safety test in first phase of trials

COVAXIN, India's first vaccine against the novel coronavirus has been found safe in the preliminary results of phase 1 human clinical trials. The vaccine has been developed by Bharat Biotech in partnership with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Institute of Virology. The next phase of the trials will begin next month. The second phase test will decide the effectiveness of the vaccine.
