US claims to have killed the Islamic State member behind the Kabul airport attacks in an airstrike. The airstrike comes less than 48 hours after the attacks that killed over 100 people including 13 US marines and injured over 200. According to the US Central Command, the drone strike was conducted in Nangahar and it killed one individual who was reportedly the planner of the Kabul attack. No civilian casualties were reported.
