Japan city requests tourists to not to eat while walking; concerned over cleanliness

A city in Japan, Kamakura has been requesting the tourists not to eat food while they are walking. The authorities are concerned over the litters on the streets which will attract the animals which will further create a mess for locals to clean. The city is popular for its giant Buddha statue. In order to not to affect tourism, the authorities are just requesting and not imposing a ban on the practice.
