Justice BV Nagarathna set to become first woman CJI of India in 2027

India is all set to get its first-ever woman Chief Justice in 2027. The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the name of nine judges for the elevation to the apex court and it includes the name of Justice BV Nagarathna, who is set to hold the top position in 2027. Justice Nagarathna is currently serving as a judge with the Karnataka High Court. Justice Hima Kohi and Justice Bela Trivedi are the other two names on the list.
