Lisa Montgomery will be the first woman to get executed in US in seven decades

The US Justice Department scheduled the federal execution of Lisa Montgomery, convicted of a 2004 murder on December 8. This will be the first federal execution of a woman in almost 70 years. Montgomery will be executed by lethal injection at US Penitentiary Terre Haute, Indiana. She was found guilty of killing a pregnant woman in Missouri by strangling her. Bonnie Heady was the last woman to be executed in US in 1953.
