London's Charles Dickens Museum is displaying the world's first-ever printed Christmas card. The card shows a family gathered around a table with wine glasses in their hands with a message printed on it. It was designed by Henry Cole and illustrated by John Calcott Horsley. The card was printed in the same year Dickens's 'a Christmas carol' was published in the UK, i.e. 1843. Out of 1,000 printed cards, only 21 survived.
