Amid ongoing research to develop a vaccine against coronavirus, researchers have revealed the components of the immune system in macaques which help them develop immunity to coronavirus re-infection, findings helped them uncover the likely protective function a potential vaccine should exhibit. While there are differences between SARS-CoV-2 infection in macaques and humans, findings were published in the journal Science.
