Maharashtra announces five-day working week for state govt employees

There's good news for the employees working for the govt of Maharashtra, as Uddhav Thackeray-led govt has announced a five-day working week for state government employees. The decision was taken at the state Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray today. The new system will be applicable from February 29 onwards. At present, they get second and fourth Saturdays off every month.
