The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in a fresh step, has taken down face masks and hand sanitizers from the list of essential commodities. The ministry released a statement saying the decision was taken after feedback from all stakeholders. Both the items were placed in essential commodities' list after a sudden spike in the demand due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
