Nepal man released on Calcutta High Court's order after spending 40 years in jail

The Calcutta High Court ordered the release of Nepal-based Dipak Jaishi, who served 40 years in prison in connection with a murder case. 70-year-old Jaishi spent his time behind the bars in Dum Dum Central Correctional Home since his arrest in Darjeeling. He was arrested in 1981 in connection with the murder case. According to State Legal Service Authority lawyer Jayanta Narayan Chatterjee, Jaishi has lost his mental balance.
