A hospital in the US committed a life-threatening mistake when they transplanted a kidney to a patient when the kidney was meant for another patient. The surgery mix-up was discovered a day after the surgery. The officials have said that this is an unprecedented event that had never happened in the 40-plus-year transplant program. However, they have taken additional measures so that such incidents never happen again.
