Scientists in Sri Lanka have warned that the 99,000 metric tonnes of organic fertiliser from China costing nearly $63 million, would be an agriculture disaster. Scientists have said that fertilisers contain harmful microorganisms. Preliminary test results have revealed that the samples of fertilizer were infected with Erwinia. Erwinia is a plant pathogen that leads to severe post-harvest losses in crops.
