Over 3000 people in China test positive for Brucellosis after a leak at a biopharma factory

As many as 3,245 people have tested positive for brucellosis in Lanzhou, China, which is often caused by contact with livestock carrying the bacteria Brucella. As per report, Zhongmu Lanzhou biopharma factory used expired disinfectant in the process of Brucella vaccine production for animal use, which led to leak of incomplete sterilization of the waste gas which had bacteria containing aerosols and resulted in infections.
