When China helped Pakistan to build its dream port city of Gwadar, Islamabad was hopeful of a significant boost in business activities there. However, the project has failed to bear any fruit as the port city has hardly seen any major investment. In yet another jolt to Pakistan, Saudi Arabia has decided to shift a planned $10 billion oil refinery to Karachi from Gwadar, due to infrastructural deficiencies there.
