Plant cultivation may have started over 10,000 years ago: Researchers

Humans may have begun plant cultivation over 10,000 years ago, according to new research. It claims that plants were grown in south-west Amazonia, over 10,000 years ago. Researchers have found a lot of wild relatives of domesticated plants in the region. They have studied 82 soil samples and among those, 90 samples showed signs of human inhabitance. Earlier data identified Amazonia, Mexico, China as cultivation hotspots.
