PPE not covered under insurance despite costing 50% of Covid-19 treatment in private hospitals

Several private hopsitals across India, who are treating novel coronavirus patients, have been charging Rs 1 lakh for N95 masks and PPE kits. Studies show that 50% of hospital bills comprise of PPE kits and masks. There has been 20-25% jump in insurance policies from January to March 2020 as people rushed to buy policies in wake of Covid19. PPE is not covered under insurance and that's taking a toll on patients' financial condition.
