Rajasthan mandates printing of DOB on wedding cards, to curb child marriage

The district administration of Bundi, Rajasthan made it mandatory to print DOB's of bride & groom on the wedding card, in order to curb child marriage. It is also compulsory to include a warning that child marriages are punishable by law in the invites. This initiative was taken ahead of 'Akshay Tritiya' an auspicious occasion for new ventures where several children are married off. Printing press owners have been notified.
