RBI puts out tender for mobile app to help visually impaired to identify notes

The Reserve Bank of India has put out a tender for the development of a mobile app in order to help visually impaired persons to recognize all denominations of Indian banknotes. As per RBI, the intaglio printing-based sensory aids for the visually challenged people are only present in banknotes of Rs 100 and above. The app will give audio feedback, once the note will be placed in front of the mobile camera.
