Worldwide plastics production fell significantly in 2020 since 2008: Report

Global plastics production declined by 0.3% in 2020 as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, according to the European industry association PlasticsEurope, just the third time output has fallen since World War II. Plastics output in Europe fell 5.1% last year, according to a statement from PlasticsEurope. Previously, the oil crisis in 1973 and the financial crisis in 2008 both reduced global plastics output.
