Schools will remain closed in 5 districts of Tamil Nadu due to heavy rains; Red alert issued

As more rainfall over the next two days was predicted in Chennai, five districts of TamilNadu have declared a holiday in their schools and red alert has been issued. The districts include Chengelpet, Thiruvallur, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukkudi and Cuddalore. Chennai corporation has set up vital helplines for water-logging complaints and also for tree falls. Schools in Puducherry will also be shut.
