Sedition law "cannot be invoked to quieten the disquiet": Delhi High Court

The Delhi High Court today granted bail to two persons -- Devi Lal Burdak and Swaroop Ram. The two were arrested by the Delhi Police under sedition charges for allegedly spreading rumours on Facebook. Additional Judge Dharmender Rana said invoking Section 124 A (sedition) IPC is a "seriously debatable issue". The court said sedition law can't be invoked to "quieten the disquiet under the pretence of muzzling the miscreants.."
