A Chinese court has convicted seven pro-democracy advocates, including 82-year-old barrister Martin Lee and media tycoon Jimmy Lai for organising an unlawful assembly during massive pro-democracy protests against the Chinese communist regime. The activists were found guilty of being involved in a protest held on August 18, 2019. They are likely to face jail terms of 12 to 18 months, but it may go up to 5 years.
