Taking a precautionary measure to prevent the coronavirus from spreading, Japanese PM Shinzo Abe today expanded state of emergency. The declaration allows regional governor to urge people to stay inside their homes but with no punitive measures or legal force, the measure is weaker than strict lockdowns seen in other countries. The state of emergency will remain until May 6. Initially emergency came into affect on April 8.
