Amid rising number of coronavirus cases in India, JNU researcher in a study claimed that Bacillus Calmette Guerin vaccine that protects against childhood tuberculosis also prevents severe infection and death from Covid-19. The JNU study claimed BCG vaccine reduces mortality. The second study from the US, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, also linked BCG vaccination with reduced Covid-19 deaths.
