Telecom Department commits blunder by allowing Huawei to conduct equipment trials

At a time when the Indian government has issued a National Security Directive over procurement of equipment to be used in the telecom sector, the Department of Telecom made a blunder by allowing Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer Huawei to conduct trials for its gear. However, it was a mistaken move and DoT rushed to suspend the certificate after realising the mistake. A top official was reportedly transferred over the goof up.
