To fight poverty, India needs to grow at speed of 8%: RBI Governor

Shaktikanta Das, the governor of the Reserve Bank of India, was speaking at an International Monetary Fund event in Washington on Friday when he said that India needs to grow at the speed of 8% approximately in order to deal with the prevailing issue of poverty and other problems in the country. While the average growth of around 7.5% in the last few years was remarkable it is expected that India can do better, he said.
