Amid a huge uproar in the global community following the release of Omar Saeed Sheikh, the murderer of Daniel Pearl, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for accountability for crimes like the brutal murder of the 38-year-old South Asia bureau chief for The Wall Street Journal. Pearl was in Pakistan to cover Islamist militancy in the country when he was kidnapped and brutally murdered by Omar Sheikh in 2002.
