Unwell employment: For 1st time since 1993-94, male workforce shrinks

Election time is near and the released data can affect the vote bank as it revealed that for the first time since 1993-94 the male workforce has declined. During the time period of 1993-94, 21.9 crore males were working, which increased to 30.4 crores in 2011-12 but then decreased to 28.6 crores in 2017-18, as revealed by NSSO’s Periodic Labour Force Survey. Decline in jobs in the rural segment have affected women more.
