The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has imposed a ban on the sale and use of firecrackers in NCR and other areas with poor air quality ahead of the Diwali festival. According to the order issued by the UP Home Department, the use of green firecrackers will be allowed in areas with 'moderate' or better air quality. It is, however, interesting to note that air quality is in the 'moderate' category in Noida and Ghaziabad.
