A day after a court staying Lisa Montgomery's execution, the US authorities executed Montgomery following last-minute court orders. 52-year-old Montgomery became the first woman executed by the federal government in 67 years. She was executed by lethal injection at the USPenitentiary in Terre Haute and breathed her last at 1:31 am. The US Supreme Court had paved the way for the execution of Montgomery.
