WHO calls for ramping up Covid sequencing studies

The World Health Organization called for ramping up the coronavirus sequencing studies globally in order to fight the new variants. The committee also voiced its opinion against the countries requiring proof of vaccination from incoming international travellers. WHO emergencies director Michael Ryan said the situation has worsened due to the pandemic in Brazil's Amazonas while expressing his fears over the start of another wave.
