According to reports, the world consumed 10% more alcohol in 2017 per adult, compared to 1990 and within 2030 half of all adults worldwide will drink alcohol. According to the researchers, widespread drinking in India and China is a contributing factor to this. The World Health Organization is targeting to reduce harmful alcohol use. However, the world is not on track to achieve that goal, they added.
