President Kovind becomes first Indian head of state to visit Africa's Benin

Indian President Ram Nath Kovind has become the first Indian head of state to visit West African nation Benin. The President arrived at the Cardinal Bernadine de Cotonou International airport on the first leg of his three nations tour to the West African region. He will also travel The Gambia and Guinea, where no Indian head of state has yet stepped foot. Kovind will try and improve India's ties with the western nations.
