South Africa captain Faf du Plessis has admitted the last minute offer made by AB de Villiers to Cricket South Africa for a national team comeback in the World Cup was too late to discuss. Du Plessis also revealed he and retired the former South Africa skipper had a telephonic conversation on this topic during the IPL earlier this year. Incidentally, AB de Villiers bid goodbye to international cricket in May 2018.
