Jos Buttler's late hitting rescued England after a disappointing batting performance on the first day of the final Ashes Test. Buttler hit 3 sixes in his 64 not out to take England to 271-8. The home side earlier crumbled to 5 for 56 to slide from 170-3 to 226-8. Of all the bowlers who were supposed to rip through England's batting lineup, Mitchell Marsh wasn't one of them but he had a brilliant spell of 4 for 35.
