Indian runner failed dope test after winning Asian title

Indian runner Gomathi Marimuthu had failed a dope test just after winning the Asian 800 meters title last month and has now been suspended, Athletics Federation of India has said. The 30-year-old tested positive for anabolic steroids after she won at the Asian championships in Doha last month. She has been provisionally suspended until her ‘B’ sample is tested after which she could face a maximum ban of four years.
