RBI ordered to disclose names of big loan defaulters

Central Information Commission has ordered RBI to reveal the names of big loan defaulters it sent to banks for resolution after Lucknow-based activist Nutan Thakur filed an RTI application. RBI Deputy Governor Viral Acharya in 2017 had said accounts of a few loan defaulters had been sent to banks for resolution. Insolvency applications against 12 big accounts amounting almost 25% of total NPAs were ordered then.
