Real Madrid were handed a humiliating 7-3 defeat by arch-rivals Atletico Madrid in a pre-season friendly. Diego Costa hammered three times before the break as Atletico scored 5 in the opening 45 minutes. Costa added his fourth after the break before given a red card for confronting Dani Carvajal. Trailing 7-1 with 20 minutes to go, Real managed to hit twice late in the game for some consolation for head coach Zidane.
