Rise in number of crorepati taxpayers in India by 60%: Report

As per a report shared by CBDT on Monday, there is a rise in the number of taxpayers who are earning more than Rs 1 crore in a year to over 1.40 lakh in India in last 4 years. The policy-making body of the IT department said that there is a rise of about 68% in the number of individual taxpayers. The reports stated that 88,649 taxpayers earned above Rs 1 cr in 2014-15 and in 2017-18 it rose to 1,40,139.
