The UK government asked the Queen to suspend Parliament days ahead of the MPs return to work in September and only a few weeks to the Brexit deadline. Boris Johnson's new administration will likely hold a Queen's Speech announcing the British government's plans on October 14. But MPs won’t be able to pass any laws which could stop the prime minister from taking the UK out of the EU without a deal on 31 October.
