The Supreme Court today heard the petitions challenging the restrictions and communication lockdown in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370. The court said that repetitive orders under Section 144 of CrPC will amount to an abuse of power and the mere expression of disagreement cannot be a ground to impose Section 144. The court directed the government to consider forthwith to allow essential services.
