Bishan Singh Bedi, born September 25, 1946, is a former Indian cricketer who primarily bowled slow left-arm orthodox. From 1966 to 1979, he was a member of India's famous spin quartet in Test cricket. He appeared in 67 Tests and took 266 wickets. In addition, he captained the national team in 22 Test matches. Bedi wore a colourful patka and has been outspoken and forthright about cricket issues. In 1970, he received the Padma Shri award.
