The 4 GB model was priced at $499 and the 8 GB model was priced at $599. Tens of thousands of people waited days before the launch for the iPhone in front of the AT&T and Apple retail stores for buying the iPhone. Matter of fact, lots of stores reported stock shortage within half an hour of the release.
