Todd's abrasive, bratty, and headstrong demeanour made him so unpopular that fans voted "yes," sealing his fate by a razor-thin margin (5,343 – yes, to 5,271 – no). It turns out that The Joker beating him to a pulp with a crowbar and leaving him in an exploding warehouse was entirely up to the fans. Despite this shocking decision, DC continues to pay homage to the iconic character to this day. In fact, an Easter Egg in The Dark Knight featured a small nod to Robin!
