Chile, with slightly over 1300 volcanoes, is one of the countries with the most, and many of them are currently active. Cerro Arul, Cerro Hudson, and Villarrica are three of Chile's most visible and historically active volcanoes. They are all composite volcanoes, sometimes known as stratovolcanoes.
