St Thomas, Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Palayur was founded in 52 AD by St Thomas, one of Jesus Christ's 12 apostles. In terms of synagogues, the Paradesi Synagogue in Kochi, Kerala, is the oldest operational synagogue.
