Many parents have heard that if they want to breastfeed, they should avoid using formula since it causes babies to nurse less, which reduces mom's milk supply. However, UC San Francisco researchers discovered evidence to the contrary: in their study, they looked at neonates, some of whom had supplementary formula during their first few days, and others who were exclusively breastfed.
